Developing a sense of adventure is child's play at Laura's Lodge!

A NURSERY in Antrim has used a donation from Power NI to purchase a range of new play and sensory equipment to support the development of its toddlers.

Power NI’s Helping Hands is a long-standing charitable scheme that is designed to support those causes in Northern Ireland that matter the most.

It does this by giving staff the opportunity to nominate an individual, a group or an organisation to receive sponsorship knowing it can make a positive difference.

Power NI employee Donna Wright nominated Laura’s Lodge Day Nursery to receive the £300 donation which has been put towards the purchase of new toys, bringing lots of happiness to kids in the building’s ‘Toddler Room’.

New items include a mud kitchen, messy play trays, and a busy board.

Laura’s Lodge Day Nursey offers full-time and part-time day care for children aged six weeks to 11 years and has been in business for over two decades in the town.

Stimulating

Key to this success is a desire to provide a caring, happy and stimulating environment for all age groups in safe – and supportive – surroundings.

“We are so grateful to Power NI for helping to provide us with messy play and sensory toys for our Toddler Room here at Laura’s Lodge Day Nursery in Antrim,” said Rhonda Baird, Manager of Laura’s Lodge.

“The benefit of having this additional sensory equipment is invaluable for the little ones.

“Even the staff who work here are having fantastic fun with them.

“Thank you so much!”

Welcoming the Helping Hands cash boost for the nursery, Donna Wright added: “I am delighted and proud as an employee of Power NI, and the mother of a toddler in Laura’s Lodge, that we can help the toddlers engage in invaluable sensory play with this equipment.”
