Local businesses and entrepreneurs gathered at Space Antrim to celebrate the first anniversary of the workspace hub.
The evening featured a panel discussion with current licensees, an interactive open mic session and concluded with a celebratory cake cutting.
Mayor Leah Kirkpatrick commented, “I’m delighted to celebrate the continued success of Space Antrim – our state-of-the-art workspace facility that has truly become a thriving hub of innovation and enterprise.
“With almost 85% of offices now occupied, it’s clear that local businesses see the value of working and growing right here in Antrim.
“Space Antrim represents more than just a workspace; it’s part of our wider ambition to invest in our towns, support local enterprise, and create opportunities closer to home.
“As we look ahead to another successful year, we remain committed to building on this momentum and ensuring Space Antrim continues to inspire, connect, and empower our business community.”
Chair of Antrim Enterprise Agency, Declan Barry commented, “From day one, this project has been rooted in collaboration.
“Managing this facility on behalf of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has been more than a contractual arrangement - it’s a shared commitment to revitalising our town centre and fostering a vibrant environment where local businesses can thrive.
“Space Antrim has breathed new life into the heart of Antrim. Thanks to the dedication of our incredible team, we’ve reached 83% occupancy in just one year.
“That figure speaks volumes - it reflects momentum, belief, and the entrepreneurial energy that’s alive and well in our community.”
First licensee at SPACE Antrim, Adrian Patterson from ARCdesign commented, “Being the first licensee at Space Antrim has been a fantastic experience—not just for Arc Design, but for me personally. From the moment we moved in, it was clear this wasn’t just another workspace.
“It’s a place built on energy, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping businesses grow. Space has created an environment where ideas are nurtured, connections are made, and innovation is part of the everyday.
“We’ve seen real benefits—not only in terms of visibility and footfall, but in the sense of community that surrounds us.”
The hub’s facilities at the former Wellworths building in remain in high demand, with face-to-face meeting rooms, collaboration areas, and private pods complementing modern hot desk areas.
Sister site, Space Glengormley is set to open in 2026 at the site of the former PSNI station.
