NOW that the local cricket season is over, two young Muckamore players have accepted an invitation to travel to play in Australia.
Once they have completed the necessary paperwork Ewan Wilson and Jude Keates will be heading to the other side of the world to play for a club called Katamatite which is located on the Murray River on the border of Victoria and New South Wales and play in the Murray Valley Cricket League.
They will be following in the footsteps of two other Muckamore cricketers, Jamie Magowan and Sam Gordon who went out and played for the same team two years ago. Ewan and Jude are two competent cricketers, experienced with bat and ball and surely will be a big asset to the Katamatite Club both on and off the field.
As well as their family and friends, all at Muckamore wish them all the best for their time in Australia in the next few months.
In their last game of the season at the weekend, Muckamore Thirds finished third in their Junior League Three this season with 36 points.
Overall, the Firsts played 14 games, winning seven; losing seven to finish fifth with 28 points in the Premier League.
The Seconds played 12 games winning seven, losing five to finish third with 28 points in Junior League One.
The Fourths played 14 games winning eight, tying one, losing five to finish second with 34 points to win promotion into Junior League Five next season.
